Buy Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe without an authorised dealer waiting list

Figures below show what was listed online on 22 August 2026 and change daily. We hold more stock than we list at any one time — higher-value pieces are often held off the public site and are available on enquiry.

If you have been quoted a waiting list for a Rolex, an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak or a Patek Philippe Nautilus, you already know the position: the authorised dealer cannot tell you when, or whether, you will be offered one. This page explains why that happens, what your actual options are, and what we have in stock today.

Why the waiting list exists

Authorised dealers are allocated stock by the manufacturer. They do not choose what arrives or how much. For the models in highest demand — steel sports Rolex, the Royal Oak, the Nautilus — allocation runs far below the number of people asking. The dealer’s list is a queue for an allocation they do not control, which is why they cannot give you a date.

Nothing about that queue is illegitimate. It is simply not a supply route with a timetable.

What your options actually are

Wait. Free, and open-ended. Some people are offered a watch in months. Some are never offered one. Purchase history with that dealer usually matters more than time on the list.

Buy pre-owned or unworn on the secondary market. Available now, at a price the market sets rather than the manufacturer’s list price. For the scarce references that price is normally above list; for a great many other references it is at or below list, which is the part most people are surprised by.

Buy from stock we hold but do not list. Patek Philippe and other high-value pieces are kept off the public catalogue. Tell us the reference and we will tell you what we have. Where we do not hold it, we will source it — you set the condition and the ceiling, and there is no charge for the search.

What we have in stock today

We are a dealer, not an authorised dealer. That is precisely why there is no list: we buy from private sellers, collections and the trade, so what we hold is what we hold, and you can buy it today.

Brand Listed online Price range
Cartier 482 pieces watches, jewellery and bags
Omega 370 pieces
Hermès 324 pieces
Chanel 232 pieces
TAG Heuer 164 watches £300 to £3,300
Rolex 126 watches £1,400 to £95,550
Breitling 52 watches
Audemars Piguet 25 watches £14,800 to £349,100
Tudor 18 watches
IWC 8 watches

Patek Philippe is held but not listed on the public site. Patek, and a number of other high-value pieces, are kept off the online catalogue and offered on enquiry. Email sales@chrono6538.com with the reference you are after and we will tell you what we have.

Our Audemars Piguet depth is the unusual one. Twenty-five Royal Oaks and Code 11.59s listed at £14,800 to £349,100, with more held off-catalogue, is deeper than most UK dealers manage at any moment — and none of it carries a queue.

What you give up, and what you don’t

You should know both sides before you buy.

You give up: the manufacturer’s warranty, unless the piece still has time left on its original card. You give up the authorised dealer’s boutique experience. On the scarce references you will usually pay above list.

You do not give up: authenticity, condition disclosure, or legal protection. Every piece is authenticated in house before it is listed, checked against manufacturer reference data, movement and case serials, and where the piece warrants it by opening the case back. Every piece comes with a written condition report and a Chrono6538 Certificate of Authenticity.

You also keep your statutory rights. Buying from us at distance, you have 14 days from delivery to cancel without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Our full terms of sale set out the returns condition and the deductions that apply if a piece comes back worn rather than inspected. We provide a 12-month warranty on the movement of watches sold, where the piece has not been opened, modified or damaged.

Frequently asked

Can I buy a new Rolex without being on a waiting list?

You can buy an unworn or as-new Rolex from a dealer on the secondary market today, without any list. What you cannot do is buy one at the authorised dealer’s list price without an allocation, because allocation is what the list is for. Expect to pay the market price, which for scarce steel sports references is above list and for many other references is at or below it.

Why is a grey-market Rolex more expensive than the retail price?

Because retail price and market price are different things. The authorised dealer price applies to a watch you can only have if you are allocated one. The market price applies to a watch you can have today. Where demand exceeds allocation, the second number is higher. Where it does not — and for most references it does not — the second number is often lower.

Is buying from a non-authorised dealer safe?

It depends entirely on the dealer, which is why the checks matter more than the label. Look for a registered company you can find at Companies House, a published address, a VAT number, written condition reports, an authentication process the dealer will describe, published terms, and a stated returns position. We publish all of those and link them above.

Do I get a warranty?

Not the manufacturer’s, unless the piece still has time remaining on its original warranty card, in which case that time transfers with the watch. We provide our own 12-month warranty on the movement of watches sold through this site, where the piece has not been opened, modified or damaged. The exclusions are set out in clause 12 of our terms.

How long does an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak waiting list take?

Authorised dealers do not publish waiting times for the Royal Oak and generally will not commit to one, because they are waiting on allocation themselves. Reported waits run from a year to indefinite, and purchase history with that dealer typically matters more than position in the queue. We hold 25 Audemars Piguet pieces in stock at the time of writing, available immediately.

Can you find a specific reference for me?

Yes. Tell us the reference, the condition you want and your ceiling. We will first check what we hold off-catalogue — Patek Philippe and other high-value pieces are not listed publicly — and if we do not have it, we will source it. See the sourcing case studies. There is no charge for the search.
