Where the money sits
Half of what we list falls between £1,800 and £3,350. The top of the range is Tank and Panthère in gold with diamonds, up to £24,800. The entry point is Trinity and smaller silver and steel pieces from £800.
Cartier holds value better than most jewellery brands on the secondary market, and the Love bracelet in particular has a narrow spread between what pieces sell for and what they cost new — which is why we publish a price index for it rather than asking you to take our word on pricing.
What to check on a pre-owned Cartier
- Serial number and reference — checked against Cartier reference data. Every piece we list has been through this.
- Hallmarks — gold pieces carry assay marks. Absence of an expected hallmark is a red flag and we report it.
- Love bracelet screws — the most commonly replaced part. Original screws, aftermarket screws and screw wear are all disclosed.
- Refinishing and polishing — over-polished cases lose their edges. We note where a case has been refinished.
- Stone setting — replaced or aftermarket stones are identified and reported.
- Box and papers — listed where present, and their absence stated where not.
